Goodbye and Thank you for a Great Semester!
With this seasons crew preparing to disperse I wanted to say, even though we are losing each other as classmates, we will never lose each other as family. And as we each prepare to graduate, study abroad or move on from FastTrack, I hope we continue to challenge ourselves and each other. I hope that we each grab every opportunity we can to learn more, love more and live more. And more importantly, I hope we continue to cherish the time that we have spent together in and out of the studio and the work we have created.
For my friends, my family, I wish you the best in all of your endeavors and I will always hold a special respect and admiration for each of you.
With my sincerest love,
J'Nae Lee
Good luck to everyone with your final exams and congratualtions to those that are graduating this December. You all deserve it!

Study Abroad...
But if you want to head out next spring then you HAVE to apply online by September 15!
Here's where to apply: www.studyabroad.purdue.edu
Help Wanted: Unigo.com
Unigo.com-a college guide and web magazine-is looking for a Purdue intern for this fall semester. They're looking for someone willing (and able) to commit 5-6 hours a week to the position. The chosen intern will be expected to produce and film short videos every week about college life (they'll send you a camera so no need to make a mad dash to Best Buy). Also you'll be expected to engage in their marketing efforts through social media channels as well as on-campus. You will also be able to pitch and write content for ThePrereq.com as well as Unigo.com.
The hours with this position are VERY flexible and the position its self will help you create and build up your online portfolio. But you must be RESPONSIBLE and DILIGENT in order to handle the weekly deadlines. Prior experience with video production and a strong presence on social networks is a PLUS but they will consider inexperienced candidates that are willing to learn. The internship is open to all classes and majors.
For more info on this posting you can go to the following link to see what other interns have to say about their experience.
http://www.unigo.com/aboutus/campusrep.aspx
And if you want to throw your hat in the ring send a paragraph about yourself and your resume (with or without a list of extracurricular activities) to Senior Web Editor Irene Straygina at Irene@Unigo.com
Take care and good luck!

Next, for all of those aspiring journalists out there, The Exponent is looking for some fresh blood in their upcoming callout. There are paid positions in the advertising and newsroom departments-both offering real, hands-on experience in media and communication as well as in depth client interaction. If this sounds like the campus job of your dreams then shake your money maker down to room 129 of the Electrical Engineering building September 1 at 6:30pm. If you have any questions or just want more details on Exponent life you can contact Editor-in-Chief Mikel Livingston at 765-743-1111 ex. 207 or email him at editor@purdueexponent.org.

Fast Track Sports Music
We recorded by taking Jordan's amp>Mixer>Mac>Garageband. All of the guitar parts ended up being performed by Jordan. I programmed the drums by sampling Nine Inch Nails songs and manipulating them. Don was massively helping in engineering.

WELCOME TO THE (BLOG) JUNGLE!
Fast Track is a weekly newsmagazine produced by Communications and Film/Video students from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. We create all of the content in the show, run all of the cameras, audio and anchor all of the segments. We cover all sorts of stories, from hard news, to features, to weather and sports.
Here's our most recent show. When the people behind Fast Track aren't showing their blogging prowess over here, we can be found over at www.youtube.com/fasttrackpurdue. Subscribe to us! We're fantastic.
On this blog, we're hoping to not only increase our dominance of the internet, but give you, the reader, a backstage pass to Fast Track and what goes into making a TV show this week.
I'm Phil, the editor of the blog. To check out my other stuff, you can head over to...
www.givememyremote.com and search for Philboy

My e-mail, if you ever need to reach me or anyone on the show is philwrighthouse@gmail.com.
MORE IMPORTANTLY...the Fast Track website is web.ics.purdue.edu/fasttrack. Check it out for more general information, old videos from our archives, information about all of the people who work on the show (who will, incidentally enough, be all of the bloggers on here) and more. I hope that you enjoy all of the things we have planned for this blog and keep on the lookout for new content really really soon!
